About Cal Tax
Cal Tax has been flying for 64 years and flew F-105 Thunderchiefs for over 70 combat missions in Vietnam. He went on to fly F-4 Phantoms, F-104 Starfighters, and many other Air Force types. He was a Delta Airlines pilot from 1970 until retirement in 2002. He has owned several light aircraft and gliders, and currently competes in the Schweitzer 1-26 national glider competitions. His favorite airplane is his 1941 Boeing Stearman biplane, which he has owned for 23 years and has won over ten Stearman National Championship Formation contests. Almost 79 years old and in good health, he enjoys flying more than ever and is involved with teaching his 14-year-old granddaughter how to fly!
