The mission: Reminders of the golden age of flight

The memory: Walking through the Vintage area at AirVenture is one of my favorite ways to spend a day. Seeing aircraft from the Golden Age of Flight brings to mind images of Humphrey Bogart, fedoras, and Oxfords. The wood and bronze trim inside these airplanes highlights the craftsmanship that defined aviation’s early years.  The shaded trees and green grass of KOSH are also a welcome break from the asphalt taxiways and runways. On this particular day, a blue and white Waco sitting under bright blue skies and scattered clouds captured a moment that perfectly reflected the spirit of AirVenture.
