The memory: Figured the view would be dreary after waiting all day for storms to pass, but lo and behold, Mother Nature surprised us with the best of view of all.
Editor’s note: This is the latest installment in our weekly series called simply the “Friday Photo.” Each week we post a great photo taken from the cockpit – one that shares the joy, beauty or fun of flying. James Heidbrink has wanted to be a pilot for as long as he can remember, but never made the time to fulfill that dream until last year, at age 44. He started flight training in 2015 and received his private pilot certificate in February of 2016. He got his tailwheel sign-off a month later and is currently working on an IFR certificate. Prior to all of this, James spent 12 years as an aircraft electrician and Maintenance Control Chief in the United States Marine Corps and another 10 in Federal Law Enforcement.
