The view: Interstate 77 cutting a path through the low clouds
The pilot: Charlie Tillett
The airplane: Piper Meridian
The mission: Heading east from Columbus, Ohio, at 14,000 feet
The memory: There was an overcast layer between 1,000 and 2,000 ft, and I passed over I-77 just south of where the highway passes through New Philadelphia. You can clearly see the road’s path in the cloud, with disruptions caused by road heat.

That’s pretty neat. I’ve never seen that phenomenon before.
New Philadelphia (PHD) reminds one of Carroll County (TSO) which reminds one of Eddie Dew Memorial Airfield (1G8) and the early Saturday morning flight of early birds out to either of the two former, both with restaurants on the field or across the road. If you weren’t ready to jump in a take off at 0800 you missed the formation flight to a, then $50 breakfast.
