Patty’s first flight in a light airplane was in a Cessna 172 at the age of ten. Her dad wanted her and her sister to experience the difference from flying in an airliner, so he took them to a nearby dirt strip airport in Mahopac, New York. Later, when she was 16, she soloed a Cessna 152 at Stormville Airport in Dutchess County, New York. After moving to San Diego, she earned her private certificate and later her glider A badge in 2000 at Williams Gliderport. Patty’s favorite airplanes are classics, having logged 400 of her 800 hours in a two-seat Luscombe 8F. For listening pleasure, she creates music compilations from aviation themed songs she comes upon, and serendipitously.
