The view: VFR flying clear skies, temperature around 60 on the ground. Perfect.

The pilot: Christine Shumway Mortine

The photographer: John Fischer using a Canon Rebel T5I with 18mm-55mm lens

The airplane: 1980 Cessna 180, infield approval C185 (former CA State Highway Patrol)

The mission: We had a surprise two hour lunch break so flew two colleagues to Swank Field. KOSU direct Swank and back.

The memory: After landing on this beautiful grass strip and parking Songbird we walked 10 minutes on a bike path to a great restaurant in the small town of Butler. Soaking up the early fall colors and smells! The approach is in gentle rolling hills surrounding with a few towers to be mindful.
