About John Glen
After graduating from Arizona State University, John Glen entered the Warrant Officer Flight Training program in the US Army. After medic training, he was posted to the 236th Medical Detachment as a medical evacuation pilot in Vietnam, earning a Distinguished Flying Cross and 24 Air Medals. His post-Vietnam flying included instructing in instrument flying at Ft. Rucker, nationwide wildfire suppression for the US Forest Service, Bureau of Land Management, and Florida Forest Service, plus civilian medical evacuation programs in St. Louis and Maui. Glen accumulated over 13,000 hours of flight time and is now retired, living in Maui.
