The mission: My friend wanted some aerial photos of the Lake Powell area. I took this picture of Coyote Gulch on the way.
The memory: I remember thinking, this would be a hell of a place for an engine out, GRS chute or no GRS chute.

Now a retired electrical engineer, Barrie worked for the US Navy in San Diego for 28 years, then retired to Cedar City, Utah, a pilot’s paradise. He took his first flying lessons back in the ‘60s in a Luscombe 8 taildragger, an experience that taught him rudder pedals are not just footrests. Barrie bought the StingSport in 2010 – a sweet-flying airplane that a buddy referred to as a "magic carpet." Flying in the American Southwest is fantastic... lots of CAVU weather and scenery that you just can’t believe.His favorite sport these days is showing friends the beauties of Southern Utah from the air.
