As a child, Greg's father flew him around Alaska in his Super Cub and he listened to his father and his father's friends trading flying stories, which stoked Greg's initial interest in aviation. He later moved to Washington State, where in 1988 he took up flying helicopters. His children came along and it became a choice of feeding them or finishing his rotor rating. They won. Greg's children are now grown and he finished his private license and shortly after, bought his first airplane, a Cessna 152. After several great years of ownership and flying, he sold the 152 and bought his current plane, a Cessna 172. He currently flies for his local SAR program and as much as he can for himself. Flying is freedom, learning and relaxing.
