Dean Zakos is a pilot and writer. He is the author of Laughing with the Wind: Practical Advice and Personal Stories from a General Aviation Pilot (available on-line at Amazon and other retailers). He has written numerous articles and short stories for Piper Flyer and Cessna Flyer magazines, the Midwest Flyer magazine, and Forward in Flight, the quarterly magazine of the Wisconsin Aviation Hall of Fame. Dean learned to fly at Batten Field in Racine, Wisconsin (KRAC). He is a member of AOPA, the EAA, and several local EAA Chapters. Dean lives in Madison, Wisconsin.
