It was always a dream of Bruce's to become a pilot. He ended up starting in his late 40s and is making up for lost time. His is now a single engine land private pilot—he started training in May of 2016 and bought a 172G to train in a month later. He succeeded in attaining his dream in December of that year. He has used his 172 to travel around eastern Canada for four years. He has over 500 hours and hopes to upgrade his 182E for IFR capability and then follow up with an IFR license. He has recently retired from a 32-year carrier as a professional firefighter, and now expects to get around more once the borders open for personal travel. He has been to every province in Canada now and hopes to visit as many of the states of the US as he can with his family’s new plane. The family loves general aviation for the freedom it offers, and the people they meet along the way.
