The airplanes: Twin Comanche
The mission: Flying from Carson City (KCXP) to Half Moon Bay (KHAF) so my friend Greg could build some hours toward his multi-engine CFII rating.
The memory: We planned a trip that would combine training with some unforgettable scenery. The route took us over Yosemite and Monterey on the way west, with a return leg featuring views of the Golden Gate Bridge, Napa Valley, and Lake Tahoe. It was a productive flight—and a spectacular one.

Tim Puliz is a multi-engine and instrument-rated pilot with more than 2,300 hours of flight time. He flies a Piper PA-30 Twin Comanche (N7101Y) and is an active member of the northern Nevada aviation community.
Tim volunteers his time with EAA Young Eagles, Angel Flight West, and the Carson City Sheriff’s Aero Squadron. He also serves as Chair of the Carson City Airport Board of Directors. In addition, he is a member of the International Fellowship of Flying Rotarians.
Tim resides in Reno, Nevada, with his wife, Vicki. Together they enjoy a large and growing family that includes seven adult children and twelve grandchildren.
