Erich is a wildland firefighter who always wanted to be a pilot since he was a boy. The closest he could come to being a pilot was running a helitack crew and flying on wildland fires.His father grew up flying a J3 Cub and three years ago he convinced Erich to start flying again. Both now have J3 Cubs and Erich's father taught him how to fly his last year. He is married and the father of three.
