The view: Looking south at the United States Capitol in fog, from 900 ft. AGL

The pilot: John Guazzo

The photographer: Kimberly Brayman (medic)

The aircraft: Airbus EC-145 helicopter

The mission: Flying a medevac helicopter to Baltimore.

The memory: DCA was IFR but we were granted Special VFR for a flight towards Baltimore.  The Special VFR was quickly approved by the fantastic controllers we work with daily at DCA tower. Few pilots and passengers get this view anymore with the airspace restrictions around DC. It is certainly a privilege we try not to take for granted.
