The view: Lake Eyre, South Australia. Lowest point in Australia. Usually dry, this lake fills with water that has flowed 1000 miles from Queensland, a journey that takes this rain water many months.
The airplane: Rutan Long-EZ, O-320 power.
The pilot: Jeff Brooks
The mission: 700nm trip each way from home base, hardly speaking to anyone. Heading out into the Australian outback, perfect Long-EZ trip.
The memory: Serenity.

A Kiwi living in Australia, Jeff started flying at 15, waiting for the day he turned 16 to solo, which of course was a Monday - school day, not the airfield! Business brought him to Oz and led him on life’s journey that now sees getting around the countryside in his 1986 Long-EZ. With 72 gallons fuel and E Mags, the O320 Long-EZ is a good fit for vast Australian distances and remote fuel challenges. With a lifelong interest in photography, the EZ allows Jeff the privilege to see and share unique perspectives of this ancient land.
