About John Dill
John Dill was born in Cleveland, Ohio, in 1944 and by age 10 had developed a keen interest in airplanes and flying. He got his first airplane ride at age 12 in a Staggerwing Beech from a pilot who took pity on the kid who always hung around the local airport. After high school he joined the Navy and became a crewman on a Lockheed P2V Neptune long range patrol plane. He took flying lessons a the Navy flying club in Memphis and eventually got his license after discharge from the Navy. He spent the next 30 years as an air traffic controller at Cleveland Center. He now owns a Cessna 150 and spends as much time in the air as possible. He can be reached at [email protected]
