The view: Sunset over Syracuse, New York.

The pilot: David Hale

The airplane: 1977 Piper Archer

The mission: Night flying hours for my PPL

The memory: This was taken by my CFII as I was flying. The lake in the picture is Onondaga Lake in Liverpool, NY. We took off from Syracuse Hancock International Airport to log some night flying hours. I love flying over Syracuse during the night because it has spectacular city lights.

Beautiful picture. Brings back memories of learning to fly out of SYR in the late 80s, early 90s. The two big FBOs there at the time (Exec Air & SAIR) are long gone now. Back when the 174th was flying A-10s & F-16s.
Good luck on your PPL! Fly safe.

Oh wow, I’m glad I could bring back those memories! Yeah, now it’s Just Million Air on both ends of the airport. I wish that the 174th was still flying the A-10s and F-16s, drones are cool but not like fighter jets! Thanks for the reply!
