The view: Back seat of a Puppy Rescue Flight, 9000 ft over northern Florida

The pilot: Michael Young

The airplane: Columbia 400

The mission: Transport 20 puppies pulled from various high-kill shelters in Alabama to Orlando, FL (Only 6 are seen here; the rest are in the baggage area and the co-pilot has two also). There they will be fostered, treated, spayed/neutered and put up for adoption by Save-A-Life Rescue.

The memory: One of about 180 Dog Rescue Flights and about 900 dogs so far… and more are yet to come!

100 dollar hamburger and save puppies, perfect use of a private pilot privelege and plane, great job to all involved!

It appears to me neither of these girls are using shoulder belts. Does a Columbia 400 not have them in the rear seat?

    Mike Young says:

Yes, the Columbia 400 has seat belts for all the occupants. The they both have them on but the girl on the right does not have her’s harness over her shoulder. (Probably because she was working with the puppies – some where on the floor).

However, just like the airlines, passengers DO NOT need to wear their seat belts except for take-off and landings. This picture was taken during cruise flight.
