The memory: My wife’s first cross country in our home built KR2s. It was a perfectly clear western day with only a 20kt head wind. Next day we had the same 20kt tail wind home. Best part is that she can’t wait to take some more little cross countries now!

Kim Neibauer has been a private pilot since 1975, with a 35-year vacation from flight status. He reacquired that privilege 2015 with the help of his local EAA chapter. He is currently president of that chapter and also a co-founder and vice president of a non-profit youth aviation group that focuses on building, repairing, and maintaining experimental and certified aircraft and also providing flight instruction for the youth involved.
