Editor’s note: This is the latest installment in our weekly series called simply the “Friday Photo.” Each week we’ll share a great photo taken from the cockpit – one that shares the joy, beauty or fun of flying. Lexington sunset

The view: Climbing thru 6000 ft about 5 miles north of Lexington, KY

The pilot: William Kivorski (photographer Jack DeBrunner)

The airplane: Cessna 172 – N555FN

The mission: William was practicing for his instrument ticket, under the hood, and I was safety pilot.

The memory: We are both members of the Flying Neutrons flying club based at Warren County – John Lane field, just north of Cincinnati, OH. N555FN is one of six airplanes in our club. As you can see, it was a great sunset to cap off a great flight with a good friend.
