Diamond sunset over lake

The view: Sunset over Lake Michigan just south of South Haven, MI (KLWA).

The pilot: Dominic Carpenter

The airplane: Diamond DA40 (New Horizons Aviation)

The mission: Fly the western coastline of southern Michigan on a beautiful evening. Round robin cross country out of Goshen, IN (KGSH).

The memory: First cross country flight after earning my PPL. Calm winds and some of the most beautiful sunlight I’ve seen through the clouds.
