One of the best parts about visiting Grayson’s Landing Restaurant is the beautiful scenery. The airport is located at the state park, and the lodge is just a short, easy 10 minute walk away. Along the way, stop for a game of putt-putt, or stroll down to the lake’s edge. The lake is a perfect place to catch fish, skip rocks with the kids, go for a swim, or rent a pontoon from the full-service marina, so bring your park map and sunscreen, and enjoy a day on the lake.

Airport tips: The park’s airport has a single 3,200’ paved runway (2-20). A bathhouse with restrooms and showers is open year-round. Tie downs are available, and you can even pitch a tent and camp right at the airport for $10 a night if you do not want to stay at the lodge. If you need transportation to the lodge, just call park staff at (270) 257-2311. While fuel and services are not available on-field, there are several airports close by that have them.

popular destination for pilots out of Bowman Field, Louisville. I hear good things about the weekend buffet. From what I remember on my only flight there many years ago, Fort Knox restricted airspace was not too far away (but certainly not a problem) and Louisville approach class C was a big help.
